TAN-RE wins award in Best Presented Financial Statements 2010 :2nd December,2011
Regional Reinsurer TAN-RE has emerged the second runner up of the best presented financial statements in the Insurance Category 2010.
This is the third time in three years that TAN-Re has received an award , the first time being in 2008 where it won ‘ Best presented financial statements in the Insurance Category’and in 2009 as winner of best presented financial statement in the Insurance Category.
The awards are organized annually by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors(NBAA) , Tanzania’s accountancy regulatory professional body, operating under the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs .
Mr Jean Claude Razafimandimby appointed Chief Underwriting Officer : 2nd December,2011
Mr Jean Claude Razafimandimby has been appointed TAN-RE's Chief Underwriting Officer for West, Central and North Africa. He brings to TAN-RE more than 20 years experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry.
Mr Amani Tuntufye appointed acting Operations Manager : 21st July,2011
Mr Amani Tuntufye has been appointed as the acting Operations Manager of Tanzania National Reinsurance Corporation.
Mr Tuntufye who is also the Senior Undwerwriter takes over the post from the Late Mr Chrisostom Bakuza who passed away in May 2011
Mr Tuntufye holds a Bachelor of Arts with Education degree from the University of Dar Es Salaam, an Honours Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Cambridge International College, and an Advanced Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute, London.
He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), and a chartered insurer. Currently, he is on the final stages of MBA degree programme at Kampala International University.

The Late Mr. Chrisostom Bakuza
The Board, Management and Staff of Tanzania National Reinsurance Corporation Limited (TAN-RE) are deeply saddened to announce the sudden death of our beloved colleague Mr. Chrisostom Bakuza who passed away on 6th May 2011 at 10.20 p.m. in Burhan Hospital. The deceased will be transported to his home village in Kagera Region on Monday 9th May 2011 for burial. May God rest his soul in eternal peace. Amen.

Mr Rajab kakusa Appointed Acting managing Director: April 2010.
The TAN-RE Board of Directors has appointed with immediate effect Mr. Rajab Kakusa as Acting Managing Director, to replace Mr. Steven Oluoch whose contract expired on 15th April 2010.
